Wise Words from the Oracle

The Oracle is not me.

It’s always good to hear wise words from someone who has been there and done that.  When world news seems ever more dire, you may be wondering how to handle your investments in the face of uncertainty.

Who better than Warren Buffett to soothe our collective worried brow?  Here are 5 mantras to repeat while doing your “don’t sell low and buy high” weekly meditations.  I know you are doing them.

  1. Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.
  2. The stock market is designed to transfer money from the Active to the Patient.
  3. Our favorite holding period is forever.
  4. It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.
  5. The most important quality for an investor is temperament, not intellect.

Thank you, O Wise One!  We will be following your hard earned advice.
