Valentine’s Day Cocktail and Mocktail Recipes (video of me making and drinking a cocktail)

It’s not all boring finance around here!  Enjoy a festive drink idea in honor of St. Valentine.

Cocktail – Love Potion Martini

Ingredients:

2 oz vodka

1 oz raspberry liqueur

½ oz fresh lemon juice

½ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)

Garnish suggestions:  Fresh raspberries and lemon twist

Extra fancy:  Rim your glass with sugar

Directions:  Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.  Shake well and strain into your fancy glass.

Mocktail – Berry Bliss

Ingredients:

½ cup mixed berries (straw-, blue-, rasp- berries)

1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup

½ oz fresh lemon juice

½ oz ginger syrup (optional, for a hint of spice)

1 cup sparkling water

Garnish:  Mint leaves and extra berries

Extra fancy:  Freeze some berries into ice cubes.  If you can find heart-shaped ice molds, even better.

Directions:  Wash and chop the berries as needed, reserving a few for garnish.  Muddle the berries with the honey/agave syrup.  Add lime juice and ginger syrup.  Give ingredients a good shake or stir. Pour the berry mixture into glasses with ice.  Top with sparkling water.

Whether you use Valentine’s Day to celebrate a romantic partner, a best friend group, or just all of the people you love in your life, cheers to a much needed mid-February pick-me-up.
