Summer Plans Around Colorado

It’s the time of year where summer plans are top of mind.  Here are three reasonably affordable Colorado hot weather activities – whether you live here (as many of my readers do), or are drawn to the state for the beauty and climate.

  1. Visit Ouray, CO! Men’s Journal recently named the Southern Colorado town of Ouray number 1 on it’s must-visit list.  Calling it the “Switzerland of America,” the article touts the town’s many outdoor adventure options.  From rock climbing to terrifying Jeep trails, to relaxing in the myriad hot springs, there is something for everyone in Ouray.
  1. Make it about the Music! Sure, Red Rocks is spectacular, but don’t forget some of our other concert destinations like Levitt Pavilion, Mission Ballroom, Fillmore Auditorium, Gothic Theater, Mishawaka up in Northern Colorado, the Gerald Ford Amphitheater inf Vail, and the all new Sunset Amphitheater in Colorado Springs.  So many opportunities to sing, dance, and discover your next favorite band.
  1. Tubing is Terrific! This may require more organization as it is rumored that some of the more popular destinations (Clear Creek in Golden for example) will require timed tickets and limiting tube rentals to control crowds.  All the better for you planners out there – less human mayhem for your river adventure.

Happy summer!
