Last Minute Valentine’s Date Ideas

Think beyond the usual packed restaurants and candy hearts.  Here are some unexpected things to do with your sweetie.  Denver-centric, so out-of-town readers you will need to find something comparable in your neighborhood.

  1. Need release some pent-up pandemic rage? Try a Break Room.  Bring your own unwanted stuff and Smash It Break Room will supply safety gear for you smack away.  Bonus, you leave the mess and go home. https://smashitbreakroom.com/

  1. Go in and play. Denver has several locations to show off your corn hole, ping pong, Skeeball, bowling, arcade game, and pinball skills.  Check out Pindustry, 1Up, Players Pub, or Ace Eat and Serve just to name a few.

  1. Ever wonder how you’d fare in a high pressure, life or death situation? Wonder no more after an escape room date.  I hope the world never relies on me to figure out the location and code to stop a nuclear war.  Spoiler alert, I failed, and you were all dead.  There are tons of options, but here are a few to check out Homicide Hotel, Epic Escape Game, and Mystic Escape Room.

  1. Another not-sitting-around date is axe throwing. What better way to discover your S.O.’s true feelings about you than being locked in a room throwing sharp objects together?  A few locations:  Flannel Jax’s in Arvada, Bad Axe Throwing, and Axe Whooping.  Extra points for the great business names!

  1. How about golf in the winter? Top Golf has two locations and there is a new indoor steampunk themed mini golf downtown called Urban Putt.

Now, with date nights like this, hopefully you can avoid hiring Bev Banfield (see last week’s blog) to separate your assets in a divorce.
